Excision of Lesion Of Anus

Anal lesion excision is a procedure that removes abnormalities and lesions around the anus such as anal skin tag, anal warts. The lesions in question are skin cells that can transform into abnormal cells over time. This change is mostly caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which also causes the formation of anal warts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are lesions in the anus?

A lesion is any abnormality in the tissue of an organism, usually caused by disease or trauma. The word “lesion” sometimes brings to mind something like a sore, but anal lesions are often simply abnormalities that can be seen on the surface of the skin of the anus.

Is it normal to have a piece of skin hanging from anus?

An anal skin tag is an excess growth of skin around the anus. Anal skin tags are almost always benign and rarely cause pain. However, skin tags can cause discomfort and itching. They are usually small and may be your normal skin color (or slightly darker).
