What are adenoids and why remove them?

The tonsils and adenoids are part of the immune system and are often removed in childhood to treat chronic otitis media and shortness of breath.

How long does it take to recover from Adenotonsillectomy?

You won’t experience like doing very a great deal for up to ten days after your surgery. It generally takes a week earlier than recuperation is complete.

What can you eat after adenotonsillectomy?

Stick to smooth, easy-to-swallow foods. Most of the patients stick with a smooth nutrition plan for a day or 2 days after surgery. After that, you could attempt introducing different foods.

Cautıons

*No non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (aspirin etc.) 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks following your surgery. *For the first week there should be no heavy lifting or exertion. *Avoid hard foods that cause straining or pain. *It is extremely important that the patient drinks sufficient water/liquids to avoid dehydration. *It is necessary to keep the mouth and teeth clean. The teeth should be brushed gently two or three times a day.

2 Days hospitalisation is needed and avoid airplane travel for a week after surgery.
