Uzm.Dr. Kemal Başak

INTERNAL MEDICINE

He was born in Van, in 1953. Dr Kemal Başak finished his first and middle school education in Van. He started his university education in 1970 at Istanbul University and graduated in 1976 from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. In 1981, he completed his specialist training to become an Internist Consultant. During the years 1981 to 1982 he completed his military service at Tatvan Military Hospital. He then worked for a time as a private doctor. In 1986 he settled in Izmir and started work at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital in 1987. In 1989 he passed the Clinic Assistant Manager examination. Whilst at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital he was appointed manager for the Internal Medicine Unit in the newly-opened Organ Transplantation Department. In 1993 he went for 6 months to the Organ Transplantation Unit and Nephrology Science Unit at Ege University Medicine Faculty. He then returned to Tepecik Hospital where he carried on working as manager for the Internal Medicine Unit in the Organ Transplantation Department, as well as being Clinic Assistant Manager in the course of which he contributed to kidney transplantation for many patients. He worked as a Clinic Assistant Manager between 2005 and 2007. He wrote several articles in national and overseas journals. In 1999 at Ege University he obtained a certificate for dialysis in Nephrology Science. Since 2007 he has been working as an Internist Consultant in our hospital. He is married with two children.
